From daily journeys to long multi-day crossings, the Landes is best experienced by bike, with nearly 600 km of secure cycle paths and 1,700 km of marked routes, including two Eurovéloroutes: the Scandibérique and the Vélodyssée, which cross the department from one end to the other. The Accueil Vélo label commits professionals (campsites, hotels, guest houses, cycle rental and repair shops, visitor sites) to offer services adapted to the needs of cyclists.
• THE BEACH •
10.5 kilometers of beach and dune totally protected, since any fixed accommodation by the sea remains prohibited, the reception structures being located in the town near the shops and services. The beach of Cap de l'Homy is a supervised beach, it belongs to the "blue flag" charter for the quality of its bathing waters. Its access is ensured in a few minutes by a road which winds pleasantly through the forest, free of any habitat. The development of Cap de l'Homy carried out within the framework of the Aquitaine beach plan, is limited to a small shopping center, a campsite (where any fixed structure is prohibited) and a very large number of parking spaces close to the beach.
